Rochester MN Baby Photographer
I was thrilled to be hired as this families Rochester MN baby photographer. Their little newborn baby girl was adorable, and they were the sweetest couple ever.
Rochester MN Baby Photographer | Parent Poses
Since this little girl was the first baby for this family, we were able to spend a lot of time on parent poses. We started with poses of both parents together. These backlit family poses are my new favorite for newborn photography sessions and are a staple pose for my sessions as a Rochester MN Baby Photographer. I love the look of both parents with baby backlit, and love putting a little different spin on it with each parent alone too. These types of parent poses are my most requested parent pose as a Rochester MN Baby Photographer.
Rochester MN Baby Photographer | Traditional Parent Poses
While backlit parent poses are my favorite, I still include a more traditional family pose. These poses are a staple as a Rochester MN Baby Photographer. I always start with mom.
After working with mom alone, I add in dad for some poses of them together.
The next series of poses in my Rochester MN baby photographer session is dad with baby alone. I like to get some traditional poses in first, and then I love getting this little side profile shot of newborn baby posed in dad’s hands. The profile of baby’s face is a favorite, and I love the contrast between the teeny newborn baby and dad’s hands.
Rochester MN Baby Photographer | Swaddled Poses
Another popular pose for newborn photography sessions for me as a Minneapolis newborn photographer is to swaddle baby and place them in a prop. This little girl was adorable wrapped in pink, and on top of a chunky knit blanket.
Rochester MN Baby Photographer | Close Up Newborn Pictures
As a Rochester MN baby photographer, I always include these adorable close up shots of baby’s features. I love how small they are, and also want mom and dad to have memories of just how teeny every part of their newborn baby was. That first year for a baby is crazy, and they change so much. I want parents to be able to look back at their images from a newborn photography session with me and be brought back to those first few days of baby in their life.
Rochester MN Baby Photographer | Bucket Pose for Newborns
One of the staples in the studio as a Rochester MN baby photographer, is this bucket. It is amazing. Not only is it perfectly sized for baby, but it also has removable outer designs that can be changes easily. This allows for different looks during the newborn photography session, with minimal movement to baby. I love how different these two looks are, but also also very similar with the floral designs. The white floral design is a decal from Rozzi Rayne – and so worth getting if you are a Minneapolis newborn photographer like me. It’s so cute, and a huge hit with parents.
Rochester MN Baby Photographer | Traditional Newborn Poses
I always finish sessions with the traditional newborn poses. I use a elevated dog bed for my posing, and love it so much. It is big, flat, firm, and has enough give to gently bouncy even the fussiest babies asleep.
I loved the colors mom picked for this session. They are all soft and compliment each other well. As a Minneapolis baby photographer, I love when parents pick colors that work together well and will look great displayed together as well art or in an album.
Rochester MN Baby Photographer | Baby Headshots
No session with me as your Rochester MN baby photographer would be complete without some baby head shots. These adorable baby expressions are a client favorite. Parents love when I can capture all of the silly faces they get to see daily, and include them in the gallery with the more posed images.
