It was so much fun having this little girl back in the studio for a cake smash session, and also fun to have a little change of place from newborns to be a Northfield Cake Smash Photographer.

From Newborn Session to Northfield Cake Smash Photographer Session

I first met this little girls family when I photographed mom for her Northfield maternity pictures.  They were so sweet and so much fun – and big brother did an amazing job of turning on the charm and stealing all of the attention.  He even had some epic photobombs in moms pictures.  I then got to see them again for newborn pictures as their Northfield newborn photographer, and it was amazing watching them welcome this little baby into the family.  Fast forward a year, and now they hired me as their Northfield cake smash photographer.   We included both non-cask smash and cake smash images into her session.

She was a little slow to warm up to me – which is totally normal for her age.  After some photographer tricks and bribery we were fast friends.

Mom brought this adorable dress, and it was a perfect match for their Northfield cake smash photographer session backdrop.  The white and gold in her dress brought out the golden accents in the backdrop, and added to the fun star and moon theme of her cake smash session.

After her cake smash free images, we jumped into the Northfield cake smash action.  This adorable smash cake is from a local baker friend, and looked even more amazing in person.  My own kids were with when I picked it up, and they were so jealous they they didn’t get to eat it, and it was going to end up smashed during the Northfield cake smash photographer session.

Like most kids, she started off slow and unsure of the cake.  And once she got frosting on her hands, it was game over.  She lost it and wanted nothing to do with the cake, me, or even her big brother who tried hard to calm her.  Eventually, mom had the amazing idea to get her a fork.  Yep, a fork.  This little on is a true lady, and hates eating anything with her fingers or getting her hands dirty.  Mom said they have nicked name her “the duchess” because of how prim and proper she can come off, and it really showed in her Northfield cake smash photographer session. Once she had a utensil, she was all about eating the cake, as proper as she could.
