I love snuggling babies, and the cutie from this Northfield newborn baby photography session was no exception. He was adorable.
Northfield Newborn Baby Photography Session | Parent Poses
Like most sessions, I started this Northfield newborn baby photography session off with baby and parent poses. I love using these poses as a way to warm up to each other at the start of the session. They are also great when babies show up for their newborn photography session with me wide awake. Wrapping a baby is a sure fire way to get them to fall asleep, which makes for easier posing.
I started with mom in this Northfield newborn baby photography session, and love her little guy’s personality in the images.
Next was dad’s turn. Dad images are one of my favorite parts of a session, and the dad in this Northfield newborn baby photography session was great. I love the contract of these little babies to their bog string dads. And dad’s always have the proudest smiles with their little ones during their Northfield newborn baby photography session poses.
I love incorporating a could different types of parent poses into a Northfield newborn baby photography session parent pose work flow. I start with more traditional poses, with everyone looking at baby or looking at the camera. Then I like to include these fun silhouette poses. They are such a fun and modern take on family poses during a newborn photography session in the studio.
Northfield Newborn Baby Photography Session | Wrapped Poses
Since baby was already wrapped from the parent pose part of the Northfield newborn baby photography session, I kept him wrapped for the next images. I love this basket and knit layer. They really are one of my favorite newborn photography props in the studio.
I also love to incorporate my amazing flokati rugs into my Northfield newborn baby photography session, and wrapped poses are perfect for it. I love the simple texture flokatis add to an image, while not taking away from the baby.
Northfield Newborn Baby Photography Session | Detail Shots
Newborn sessions are focused on capturing all of those little newborn bay details. These close-up images of all those cute little baby parts is the best way to include these details into a newborn photography session. Plus they make for adorable pictures – I mean, who doesn’t love cute baby toes.
Northfield Newborn Baby Photography Session | Outfits
Outfits are a great way to include more style into your Northfield newborn baby photography session, especially if you want your baby to stay clothed, and skip the naked baby pictures. This little outfit is a favorite of mine, and clients. It is so soft and fuzzy, and warm. Babies always fall asleep in it right away.
Northfield Newborn Baby Photography Session | Posed Images
This little guy was a riot. He was pretty chill and relaxed (unlike some other babies that will cry or scream). He would just stare at me with his big and beautiful eyes. He could go from a confused, angry, relaxed, and happy face so quickly – all because of the emotions in those brows. He really added a lot of character to his Northfield newborn baby photography session.
We started with a traditional naked and bum up poses.
Then went into some wrapped options. He loved being wrapped up again, and made it hard to move onto the next pose of the newborn photography session for baby boy. Part of me wanted to let him keep sleeping because he looked so peaceful.
He loved being on his belly, which can be tricky for some babies. I always think they get so much “tummy time” at home, they associate it with more if a work out / duty than a relaxing way to sleep. Luckily this guy was all about a relaxing belly nap during his Northfield newborn baby photography session.
Northfield Newborn Baby Photography Session | Baby Faces
Without question, these adorable images are my favorites from all newborn photography sessions lately. I love being able to capture both the adorable silly faces babies make, and a few crying pictures.
Because any parent will tell you, they see a unhappy or crying baby face frequently, and like to have these forever memories of what baby looked like when they weren’t peacefully sleeping.
