It’s no secret that I love maternity sessions, and so glad I was able to be part of this maternity session with Northfield mom. Not only was she a radiant mom, but her family was amazing and some of the sweetest people I have had in my Northfield portrait studio.

I have a large collection of maternity gowns and dresses available for moms to use at their studio maternity sessions.  Some of my favorite dresses were used during this maternity session with Northfield mom.   She picked out a great variety of dresses from the collection.  This light blue off the shoulder dress option, and it looked amazing on her.  It is one of my favorite styles of dresses for maternity sessions at the studio, and she looked stunning in it during her maternity session with Northfield mom. I also love how a dress in a color like this can almost look like a different dress in black and white images.  That added contrast in black and white can easily make light color dresses appear white.  It is like getting two dresses out of one during out maternity session with Northfield mom.

This red dress is a new addition to the studio collection of dresses and gowns.  I love how this dress was opposite of her first dress.  The blue dress was form fitting, soft, and a more relaxed feel.  The red dress was a looser fit, powerful color, and has a more formal look and feel to it.   It was a great second dress for this maternity session with Northfield mom.

Ruffled Robe | Maternity Session with Northfield Mom

When I added this dress to my collection of dresses and gowns, I never expected it to be as popular as it is.  So many clients see it and want to try it on.  It was no different for this maternity session with Northfield mom.  I’m not sure why everyone loves it, but I have a feel that it has something to do with the fact that it is a piece no one would buy for themselves to wear while pregnant, and once ladies have it on they feel like a princess with the long train and ruffles.

Boho Dress | Maternity Session with Northfield Mom

This two piece dress has a boho feel to it, and a great way to round out her options from the studio maternity dress collection.  I love the softness it added to this maternity session with Northfield mom. The boho maternity dresses and my studio bed set up are a great match, and give a studio maternity session a more intimate and soft feeling.   Plus I am a huge fan of all white setups in the studio, and just had to include one white setup in this maternity session with Northfield mom.

While I have amazing dress and gowns options in the studio, I love when clients bring in their own clothing for maternity sessions with me.  And this mom’s choices did not disappoint.  I love that she was able to incorporate clothing and colors important to her ancestry and her own story of moving to America from Ghana.  As much as I love the dresses I have in the studio collection, they will never compare to how amazing moms look in dresses and gowns that have special meaning to them and their family.
