MILESTONE SESSIONS
HOW LONG DOES A SESSION LAST?
Milestone sessions usually last up to an hour. Some kiddos make it closer to 45 minutes. I have found that kids vary from day to day at these ages, and some days will be better than other. No worry, we will still have lots of great images if you little one doesn’t make it the full hour set aside for the session.
WHERE DOES THE SESSION TAKE PLACE
You will get your choice is a studio or an outdoor session. Due to Minnesota weather, outdoor sessions are typically only offered May – October.
The studio address is 801 Division St S, Northfield MN 55057.
Outdoor milestone sessions take place at parks with in the Northfield area. I like to use locations that are more nature based, since some kids have one track minds and seeing playgrounds and swings can impact their amount of cooperation.
DO YOU HAVE CHILD OUTFITS AVAILABLE FOR THE SESSION?
Yes! I have some clothing options for children up to size 2T. I have simple classic onsies, rompers, dresses, knit pieces, and more. Outfit changes seem to be hard on little ones, so I limit the session to 2 or 3 outfits max. I have found over the years that most session meltdowns are based around outfit changes. Some kids handle them better than others.
Other accessories like headbands, socks, shoes, and more are also available.
WHAT HAPPPENS IF MY CHILD WON'T COPPERATE?
Milestone sessions are schedule in the morning, or early afternoon. This lets us plan around baby’s happiest times. I have found little ones are happiest after a good night sleep or nap, and a meal or snack. Being well rested and having a full belly will get us far in terms of cooperation.
The studio is stocked with toys and special things I use to get kiddos relaxed, happy, and smiling. I have photographed a lot of little ones, and I have ton of little tricks that get them into the session. There is more play at these sessions than posing, which always leads to natural smiles and laughs.
With that said, there have been a couple kiddos over the years that weren’t into the session that day. Worst case scenario, we will try again and reschedule the session. As a mom myself, I know that kiddos can be unpredictable and being flexible is the best approach sometimes.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD IS SICK?
As a mom, I know that kids seem to pick up germs everywhere and are sick frequently. If your child wakes up sick, let me know right away the morning of your session. We can reschedule your session, without a fee. I will send you my studio calendar and you can pick a new date and time. I have rescheduling dates build into my calendar, making rescheduling easy.
DO YOU OFFER CAKE SMASH SESSIONS?
Yes, A cake simple smash session can be added to your session. There is a $50 cake smash fee.
Cake Smash option includes choice of smash cake, cupcake, donuts, or muffins, and simple balloon garland
