Northfield MN Newborn Photographer | All White Studio Session
Photographing babies and their families is a my favorite thing to do as a Northfield MN newborn photographer. The only think I love more than newborn and family photography sessions, is when the entire session is done on white backdrops. I love the simplicity of an all white session, and how it allows the newborn and their family to be the focus of the images. I also love the long term décor aspect of white sessions, they will always look great displayed in your home. White is a simple and classic color choice for newborn photography sessions at my Northfield photography studio.
Northfield MN Newborn Photographer | Family Poses
Newborn photography sessions almost always start with family poses. This is a way that I can let the family warm up to me as their Northfield MN newborn photographer. With this family, that wasn’t the case, since they are return clients and I have been photographing their family as it grows.
I like to start my sessions as a Northfield MN newborn photographer with traditional family poses. These are the ones that everyone expects from their sessions. The whole family posed, and looking at the camera. With a family of 6 this is a little more difficult, but as you can see they all did amazing.
I also like to add in a more modern take on family portraits as a Northfield MN newborn photographer. These are a fun take on family portraits, and lets me capture the excitement of adding a new family member, and give families a piece that is more of a statement piece for hanging on their wall.
Northfield MN Newborn Photographer | Siblings
As a mom myself, I am always aware of the weird phase siblings are in when a baby is added to the family. Not only are they excited to have a sibling, but they are also now faced with the idea of having to share mom and dad. I always set aside time as a Northfield MN newborn photographer to photograph the siblings alone. This lets them each have their own moment at the session, galleries will have pictures of just them to get excited about, and make them feel special too. Since most of the session is focused on baby, it is nice to let the older siblings have something special just for them as a reminder of their visit to the photography studio.
I also love adding in some sibling and baby pictures into the session. These are a favorite with parents. Who doesn’t love a picture of all their kids together. That’s why it is a must for me as a Northfield MN newborn photographer.
A new variation of sibling picture I have been adding to sessions for while now are these sibling bed pictures. As a Northfield MN newborn photographer, I have found that little kids are very comfortable on the studio bed. It is a great way for them to relax, and the pillows on the bed help make holding the babies easier for little ones.
Northfield MN Newborn Photographer | Parent Poses
Photographing parents with their new baby is a much for me as a Northfield MN newborn photographer. It doesn’t matter if it is their first or fourth baby. They are just excited to meet, hold, and add each baby to their family.
As a Northfield MN newborn photographer, I always start with poses of each parent alone, and then move into poses of them together with baby.
Northfield MN Newborn Photographer | Baby Posed in Basket
It’s no secret that my weakness as a Northfield MN newborn photographer is props. I have so many in the Northfield photography studio, but keep adding more. While I have a large collection of newborn props, I have a core group of favorite newborn photography props.
One of my favorites is this white one. I originally bought this in a natural wood color and used it all of the time. I loved it so much, that I bought this second one and painted it white. It has been the best addition to the studio and easily a favorite newborn photography prop.
Another popular prop choice in the studio is this basket. When I saw It, I had to have it. It is from Hello Little Props, and a studio staple. I highly recommend it for studio newborn photography. It is perfectly sized for baby.
Northfield MN Newborn Photographer | Close Up Pictures
Capturing all those little details of fresh babies is one of the best parts of being a Northfield MN newborn photographer. I love photographing those little toes, fingers, toes, eye lashes, and more on babies. These little features change so fast, that it is great to have them documented this tiny forever.
Northfield MN Newborn Photographer | Posed Newborn Photography
One of the things I am known for as a Northfield MN newborn photographer, is my posed newborn sessions. These part of the session is when baby is posed in the popular newborn poses, like froggy, taco, bum-up, head on hands, egg wrap, and more. These are the poses that have gotten popular over the last few years, and what most parents think of when they think of newborn photography.
I love that mom picked an all white set up for these poses. We used a variety of props and backdrops, all in white or off white colors. It gave the entire session a clean crisp look. It is also my favorite color choices for sessions with me as a Northfield MN newborn photographer.
Northfield MN Newborn Photographer | Headshot
If you follow my work at all, then you know how much I love these little headshot pictures, and that they are a much for a session with me as you Northfield MN newborn photographer. I love the facial expressions babies have. It also reminds me of when I was a new mom and how I would spend hours just looking at my own baby’s face and laughing and falling in love with all the silly faces they made. This little lady did not disappoint, and had some amazing facial expresses for her baby headshots. I love that I have been including these in my Northfield MN newborn photographer sessions for parents. They are always a favorite.
