Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session

Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

I started this Elko New Market newborn photography session with family portraits.  We started off with the big brothers holding their newborn baby brother.  I love when big kids light up when they get to hold their new sibling.  These big brothers were no different.  They loved taking turns holding the baby during the Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session at my Northfield Minnesota newborn photography studio.  Even at their ages, the excitement of a bay was to strong that they were all grins.Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

After the sibling pictures I like to move into family pictures, and it was no different for this Elko New Market newborn photography session.  I like to start with one parent alone with then newborn baby, and then do poses of either the whole family together or just parents with baby.   After that, I switch to the other parent and go through a similar flow of poses, starting with the parent alone and then adding in the other partner and older kids.Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

I also love taking a break from baby at my Elko New Market newborn photography session, and give the older siblings a little time to be the center of attention.  I like to take individual pictures of them too. Even great kiddos like these boys that are thrilled about their baby brother, need a break in the baby action and some attention on just them.  Adding a baby to a family chanegs the dynamic for everyone, and the older kids seem to take the changes the hardest.Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Wrapped Newborn Poses & Prop Poses

Since this newborn baby boy was already swaddled up from family pictures, it seemed like a great time to include some wrapped poses in his Elko New Market newborn photography session.  Wrapped poses are a favorite of mine.  I love how adorable babies are all bundled up in their wraps.  I also love how easy and fast it is to move them between newborn photograph prop set ups when the baby is already wrapped.  Mom and dad at this Elko New Market newborn photography session wanted their son in blue for part of the session. This pose from the Elko New Market newborn photography session was a great one to incorporate blue into the session.Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

Since this little guy was already wrapped up, it was a great time to get some detail shots.  Parents of Elko New Market newborn photography session babies loved the little close up detail shows of their little baby boy. These close up photographs of baby’s lashes, toes, and fingers are such a great way to document just how sweet and small babies are at their Elko New Market newborn photography session.Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

Since we were already in the wrapped portion of the Elko New Market newborn photography session, we stuck with wrapped poses and used one of my favorite props.  I love this little black trencher with my favorite gray chunky knit layer.  I love photographing newborn baby boys on gray.  It’s such a great color for all babies during a Elko New Market newborn photography session.Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

Another one of my prop poses I love to use for Elko New Market newborn photography session are bucket poses.  These are poses where babies are posed in a small bucket.  The bucket I have in the studio is the best size or babies and from a Wisconsin based company called Hello Little.  If you are looking for a great bucket to use at your Elko New Market newborn photography session, this is the newborn posing bucket to have.Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Posing Newborns on Fabric

This little baby boy’s family brought in a blanket that was made for him by a relative. I love incorporating special items like this into a Elko New Market newborn photography session.  It is such a great memory to be included in a session, and a way to capture babies with items that are special to them or their families at the time they were born. This little guy slept like a champ, and we were able to get some great poses out of him on the posing table.  The orange mom picked as a color choice for this Elko New Market newborn photography session was amazing with the newborn baby boy’s completion.  It was also the first time this drop was used, and I was thrilled to have it included in this Elko New Market newborn photography session.Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses Elko New Market Newborn Photography Session | Family Poses

And of course we needed to fit in some newborn baby head shots during the session.  I enjoy all parts of my Elko New Market newborn photography session flow, but hands down, these baby head shots are my favorite. I am sure I love them so much because they remind me of just sitting and watching my own kid’s expresses when they were little.  The faces babies make are the best, and I will never get over the amount of variety their faces have.  It’s so much personality squeezed into their teeny little bodies.  And I love that I found a way to incorporate that into their sessions, as a great keepsake for families.
