Northfield Photographer For Baby Boy
I love when I am the photographer for baby boy newborns. It is easy to think that photographing baby girl newborns is more fun, with all of the detailed headbands, fancy outfits, floral accessories, and other “girl” props in the studio. The opposite is true. I love photographing boys. I love the textures, colors, and simplicity of being a photographer for baby boy newborns. I like being able to strip back a lot of the props, which can take away from baby, and put more of the focus on these sweet little boys.
Poses Used By Photographer for Baby Boy Session
I start each session the same as a photographer for baby boy newborns the same when the family wants family poses included. We start with mom and baby boy, then the family together, some with dad and baby boy, and then some more family poses. Baby boy photography sessions are the most fun when dads are into it – like this one. He was a riot and loved posing with his baby boy. A lot of dads are not thrilled with being at the session and in pictures, which can be a small challenge as a photographer for baby boy newborns. Luckily this dad was a blast, and 110% on board for everything.
This little baby boy was also a rainbow baby for this family. The path to a family of three was bumpy, but this little guy’s glow makes it all worth it. At even a few days old, his personality is strong, feisty, and the way he relaxed when mom and dad talked was amazing to watch.
Since my Northfield photography studio is filled everything we could need for a session, it was easy to find rainbow baby props for this guy. One of the best parts of being a photographer for baby boy newborns, is being able to supply parents with props for their session. I have a studio filled with everything we would need, and in most cases things parents have never seen before and immediately love. Buying props as a photographer for baby boy newborns give me the chance to shop for props in places parents are not always aware of. For example, this adorable knit rainbow wrap is from Beautiful Ewe, one of my favorite vendors for knit props. Not only are her knit newborn props amazing, but she is also one of the sweetest vendors I have met in my years of buying props.
After family poses, I take time as a photographer for baby boy newborns to focus on them alone. I often start with wrapped poses for baby boys, with them swaddled in a prop. Nest I like to photograph baby boys in props like buckets and boxes peeking out. These bucket poses are my favorite as a photographer for baby by newborns. It is a simple pose of them in a simple bucket, and shows all of their cuteness such a fun way. Next I like to photograph all of the baby’s details, like toes, lashes, feet, and their little button noses. Lastly I like to photograph baby alone on a fabric drop. These can be some of the more challenging poses for a photographer of baby boy newborns, since they are poses that often are just baby and a backdrop. It is a sequence of poses, that require moving baby frequently. Moving baby can make them cranky, and sometimes force a photographer for baby boy newborns to end sessions early.
Photographer For Baby Boy Newborns Favorite Poses
Since this little guy had so much personality squeezed into his little baby boy body, I wanted to make sure we took some time to photograph one of my favorite set ups for baby boys in newborn sessions. This little baby expression shots, or mugshots as I like to call them, are a favorite of mine as a photographer for baby boy newborns. It is a way to capture all of this little things that newborn babies do that make them have the cutest faces. From happy, sad, crying, sleeping, awkward, and more, they allow me as a photographer for baby boy newborns to give parents perfect snapshots of their baby and all of the silly faces they make in those first weeks of life.
