Rosemount MN Newborn Photography Session For Baby Boy
This Rosemount MN newborn photography session was so much fun. This family came down from Rosemount MN to my Northfield MN photography studio for their newborn session. I was so glad I was able to capture this special time for their family. Not only is it great to meet new families, but love meeting families that travel a little further for their session, like this family from Rosemount MN.
This family added their baby to the family recently, which was the third boy. They have three adorable boys now, and baby brother is the perfect addition to the family. Their Rosemount MN newborn photography session started with focus on big brothers. Adding a baby to the family can drastically change the dynamics of the family, especially for little ones that don’t fully understand how much things will change, how quickly, and the range of emotions they can feel when their new baby brother arrives.
Family Poses At A Rosemount MN Newborn Photography Session
We took some time to photograph just the big brothers. I photographed them alone, and then together before moving into more focus on baby during this Rosemount MN newborn photography session. Once we moved into photographing all three of the boys together, I could not believe how in love with their baby brother they already were. They could not get enough of him, and fought over who would hold him first and who held him the longest.
After some time with just the brothers alone, we moved into parent poses during out Rosemount MN newborn photography session. I like to start with mom and baby alone first. Then slowly add in the rest of the family. First dad joins the pose during the Rosemount MN newborn photography session. Then we added in the boys for a full family pictures.
After a family pose, I like to take some time during the Rosemount MN newborn photography session to focus on just dad and baby. I love the contrast of dad’s big strong hands, and a teeny baby boy. I always like to get images during the Rosemount MN newborn photography session focus on baby in dad’s hands. Then I move into more tradition poses of dad holding the baby for images during the Rosemount MN newborn photography session.
Once dad and baby poses are finished, I like to add mom back in for some more intimate images from the Rosemount MN newborn photography session. These are ones that focus on the family, with a little more focus on baby while mom and dad are more of a backdrop than the main focus of the session.
Baby Only Poses In A Rosemount MN Newborn Photography Session
After family poses are done, the nest part of a Rosemount MN newborn photography session is baby alone. Most of the time the next poses for the newborn baby in the session are of baby swaddled. This is a chance to let baby recover from the excitement of sibling and family poses, and let them relax and fall back into a deep sleep. During this session I was excited to use a few new props. This adorable knit pillow is from a favorite newborn prop vendor of mine, A Wrinkle In Time Photography Props. It is the perfect size pillow for little babies, and I can’t wait to use it more. I was also able to use a new basket as a prop from Wisconsin based newborn prop company Hello Little Props. This styled pose was a favorite from his Rosemount MN newborn photography session, and one that I see myself using again in the future many times. I love the simplicity and neutral colors of it.
Another favorite prop of mine was used in this session. This adorable fuzzy knit sleeper was a hot at this Rosemount MN newborn photography session. It is a way to have non-naked pictures of baby, but also lets us see baby’s full body and little legs and arms. I just added a few more color sleepers to the studio wardrobe, and I can already tell they are going to be a favorite of mine and the families of newborn photography clients.
Sweet Detailed Shots from a Rosemount MN Newborn Photography Session
A client favorite of Rosemount MN newborn photography session is detailed shots of baby’s features. These close-up images of baby are the perfect way to documents exactly what baby looks like during their Rosemount MN newborn photography session, and also creates an adorable gallery of baby’s features. Clients love these images, since newborns seem to grow and change so fast that it’s important to have them documented during the Rosemount MN newborn photography session.
Swaddled pictures are also a favorite of families. They love seeing their baby all bundled up and sleepy. It is also a great way to get a baby to relax during their Rosemount, MN newborn photography session. Sometimes all of the posing can wear on babies, and some time swaddled is a great way to get them to feel comfortable again.
Popular poses From Rosemount MN Newborn Photography Session
One of my most requested poses during a Rosemount MN newborn photography session is a pose known as “froggy”. It gets that name, because some babies can look like a little frog. It is a pose that clients at Rosemount MN newborn photography session love. This little guy loved being in the pose, and soundly slept the whole time I posed, and took multiple photographs of him in the pose. I use the multiple photographs to edit them together and create the illusion that baby was posed on his own in this pose during the Rosemount MN newborn photography session. In reality, I had my hands on him the entire time and he was fully supported and safe.
Another popular baby boy pose in Rosemount MN newborn photography session is one known as “bum-up”. In this pose, baby is on their belly, with their legs tucked under their bottom, pushing their bum up higher than it would be if baby was laying on their own. I like to offer this pose in two options during a Rosemount MN newborn photography session. I pose baby naked once, but in a way that their private areas are still not visible. Then I photograph them in a way that they have a cover of some type over their bottom. It is nice to give parents of Rosemount MN newborn photography session babies options on this pose based on their comfort level of their baby photographed nude.
A Rosemount MN newborn photography session almost always ends with my favorite poses, baby mugshots. This pose looks more simple than it is, and requires a specific posing items along with cooperation of baby (or lack of cooperation if we want some great crying or screaming images). These images are my favorite. I think it is because when I was a new mom, I remember sitting and just watching the faces my newborn made and loving each of them. This is a way to offer those adorable faces documented forever during their Rosemount MN newborn photography session. They are also a client favorite, and they make everyone smile and laugh out loud when we look through the images together at the client viewing appointment. So many parents pick these as favorites, and I completely understand why. They are such a unique way to capture baby’s emotions.
